I find these birds to be pretty finicky about what they eat. They will eat some of the bigger nuts and some of the softer small mix but they are really more interested in fresh tropical fruit, canned fruits when necessary, bananas, wheat bread, wheat crackers, and softer foods. I actually cook for these guys pretty regularly. They like scrambled eggs, cheese grits, 7 bean concoctions, coos coos, rice dishes, pasta, warm veggies from dinner ....and any combinations of these,etc. I also offer fruit juices like orange, apple, apricot, and peach periodically. And, of course, if you want them to be really spoiled, warm their favorite food up. They will go into a feeding frenzy. It's really funny to watch.
