Notes from Noell... These are the hammiest birds I have. In their own theatrical Amazon way, they create an audience wherever they go. They talk up a storm and show off their talent and colors to anyone around them. If you are not paying as much attention as they think you should, they will call you on it with "Look at me" or "Hey!! I'm talking to you!" These birds take a little more training in the very beginning but make the effort well worthwhile for years to come! |

What Do They Eat?For fully grown Amazons, around 18 months old, you will want to cut back on the fatty seed like sunflower and mix more safflower seed and pellets. It's always a good idea to watch the weight of all birds, however. They are like people. Some stay slim and fit while others pig out and need to be monitored.
We recommend fresh fruit and vegetables in the morning, with free choice of seed, pellets and dried fruit and vegetables all day. Mine also like cooked chicken, hamburger, pepperoni and bratwurst. Believe it or not! |
